Hush Puppies

1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 cup yellow corn meal
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 small onion finely chopped
3/4 cup milk
Mix dry ingredients then add onion, egg, milk. Mix together all 
ingredients. Drop 1 tbsp. of batter for each hush puppy into deep 
hot fat 360 degrees. Fry only a few at a time until golden brown. 
Serve piping hot with fried fish, any meat or chili con carne.
