Old Time Banana Bread
1/3 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
3 ripe bananas mashed
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup nuts chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar
until fluffy. Add egg and mashed bananas. Sift dry ingredients
together. Add dry mixture to creamed mixture. Beat three minutes.
Blend in the nuts. Pour into well-greased and floured 8 by 5 by
3 bread pan or 1 lb. coffee tin. Bake in oven for 60 minutes or
until done. Remove from pan, cool on rack. May be frozen or
refrigerated.
