Swiss Chocolate Cake

1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup water
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine over low heat chocolate
chips and water. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set
aside. Blend sugar, soft butter and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at
a time. Blend in chocolate. Stir in alternately flour mixture,
and buttermilk. Pour into 3 greased 8 or 9 inch layer pans.
Bake 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
