Upside Down Cake
from the 1970s
1 1/4 cup sifted flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg beaten
Mix together and set aside.
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
any fruit
Mix together dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. In
greased cake pan, add fruit to butter mixture, then pour more
batter over that. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until
done.
